Fortnite Creative
Fortnite Creative is the user-generated layer of Fortnite, in which creators build islands that players visit inside the same client as the main game. It combines an exceptionally large existing audience with a revenue-sharing programme, and offers no ownership of anything built on it.
The distribution advantage
A creator does not import an audience; the audience is already in the client and one menu away. No open world has offered anything comparable, and the gap has widened rather than narrowed since 2022.
The structural ceiling
Discovery is controlled by the publisher, revenue share is set by the publisher, and both are subject to change. It is an excellent place to reach people and a poor place to own an asset — which makes it a distribution channel rather than a foundation.
